Baked Apple Chips

Easy to make, just two ingredients, the oven on low temperature, together with a few apples - work some magic in the kitchen with baked apple "chips" to replace any candy or ultra-processed snack.

Baked apple chips

Ingredients

  • 8-10 red apples (Gala, Red Delicious, Hermon, Pink Lady etc.)
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

Preparation

  • Rinse and dry the apples thoroughly.
  • Extract the core from each apple using the special "apple corer" tool.
  • Cut up each apple into especially thin slices using a sharp knife or the "mandolin" tool.
  • If you do not have an apple corer at home you can slice the apples into slices and extract the inside part in each slice using a knife.
  • Arrange the apple slices on baking paper (as rule 8-10 apples will be sufficient for 2 standard paper lined oven trays).
  • If preferred, this is the time to sprinkle cinnamon on the apple slices.
  • Bake at a low temperature in a pre-heated oven at 1250 for 90 minutes.
  • When the apples have shrunk and "wrinkled" slightly at the edges and changed their color to slightly more golden, remove them from the oven and chill.
