Energy Balls

Who needs processed sweets? Here is a sweet and healthy recipe that can be prepared in advance and stored in the fridge for hectic times

This snack has the vitamins and dietary fibers of the dates, the calcium of the sesame and the iron of the seeds and nuts.

Ingredients

1 cup (100 grams) walnuts or almonds or a combination of the two
½ cup (50 grams) pumpkin seeds
½ cup (50 grams) sesame
400 grams dates (350 grams without the pits)
½ cup fine oatmeal
¼ cup (60 ml) tahini paste
2-3 tbsp water, as necessary

Preparation

  • Remove pits from dates
  • Place all ingredients in a food processor and pulse until combined
  • Make balls of the desired size
