Coping stages according to the model
- Focus and express commitment: to prevent feelings of loneliness, convey your commitment and reassure the individual in need of help that you stand by them and will not abandon them.
- Encourage effective actions: motivate simple actions, help collect the person's belongings, and organize the surroundings.
- Pose simple questions: ask straightforward questions about the situation, such as “are you alone?”, “would you like to call anybody?”
- Construct a sequence of events: assist in building a chronological sequence of the events. Describe the event that occurred and has now concluded.
