Quick cocoa and date balls
Ingredients
- 10 medjool dates, pitted
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder (without additions such as sugar etc.)
- 3 tablespoons raw tahini, preferably from wholegrain sesame
- 1 tablespoon almond butter.
Coating
- Quarter cup coconut flakes or cocoa powder, whichever you prefer
Preparation
- Grind all the ingredients in a food processor / stick blender until you get a smooth and uniform mixture.
- If necessary you can add a little water to the mixture during the grinding.
- Wet your hands and roll the mixture into small balls (approx. 2 to 3 cms. diameter).
- Roll each ball in the coating you prefer: coconut flakes or cocoa powder.
- Place on a shallow bowl or box and put in the freezer for at least 15 minutes so that the balls will stabilize.
- You can pack 2-3 balls into a box or small plastic bag and add to mishloach manot or as a gift, or take them to work for those moments when you fancy something sweet.
